In accordance with the Guidance for Modifications to the Grid Code which can be seen at https://www.soni.ltd.uk/media/documents/SONI-_Grid-Code-Governance_Published.pdf SONI are required to consult on Modifications to the Grid Code. SONI are consulting on a modification to account for Non Priority Dispatch Renewables in line with the requirements of SEM-21-027 which was published by the SEM Committee as well as the associated obligations within Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/943.
Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/943 Clean Energy for all Europeans Package (CEP) on the Internal Market for Electricity of 5 June 2019 entered into force in July 2019. The SEM Committee published SEM-21-027 based on Articles 12 and 13 of the CEP which requires EirGrid and SONI to modify the Grid Code in line with these requirements.
