Closed22 Jul, 2022, 12:00pm - 2 Sep, 2022, 12:00pm

Primary tabs

In November 2021 SONI published the ‘Shaping our Electricity Future’ Roadmap.

There have been changes to government policy in both Northern Ireland and Ireland since the publication of the Shaping Our Electricity Future roadmap. The Climate Change Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 set an 80% RES-E target by 2030. In Ireland, the Climate Act 2021 revised the 2030 RES-E target from 70% to 80%, and introduced carbon budgets covering the period to 2030.

We are working to update the Shaping Our Electricity Future roadmap before the end of 2022 in response to the policy changes and are planning for publication in early December 2022. Preliminary technical studies have commenced and in parallel, we are facilitating a 4 week call for inputs to seek views on what should be considered within the update.

We welcome engagement with you as part of this process and encourage you to provide any information you consider relevant.

You can review the Call for Inputs and provide feedback through this portal.

An industry focused webinar will form part of the engagement; we will be publish further details on this here.
