SONI has today published a consultation on the All-Island Resource Adequacy Assessment Methodology and Inputs & Assumptions for Northern Ireland.
This consultation is a collaborative effort between SONI and EirGrid. As such, the Methodology and Inputs & Assumptions for Ireland are available on the EirGrid Consultation Portal.
The methodology is largely consistent with the previous All-Island Resource Adequacy Assessment with the exception of the Economic Viability Assessment which is a new addition to the methodology. The inputs and assumptions are updated to account for policy changes, evolving data sources and incorporates inputs and assumptions for the Economic Viability Assessment.
SONI welcomes feedback on the questions posed within the paper (listed below). Responses should be submitted through the SONI Consultation Portal no later than 16:00 on 18th June 2025.
Please note, this consultation includes two documents (Methodology and Inputs & Assumptions). One document may be found in the preview below and the other listed in the materials section in the side panel.
METHODOLOGY

Do you have any general comments on the benefits or value that the Economic Viability Assessment can add to the overall assessment?
Do you have any comments on the proposed methodology for the Economic Viability Assessment? Of particular interest is commentary on the items listed below:
